Tips for Burning Extra Holiday Calories

Did you enjoy celebrating the last few days? Maybe you still are! 😉 Don’t stress about it - your body will take it back off pretty quickly with these three calorie burning hacks:


1. Move - don’t sit

Be that person who is up and moving while you are with family and friends. If you are on a boat, stand up whenever possible or jump in the water and do some swimming for a bit. Or just do some leg lifts or leg circles while hanging out. Do you need to do those the whole time? No! That would be a little crazy. 😂 But every hour move your body and raise that metabolism.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water!

2. Drink your water! 

Did you know that drinking water will actually flush out some of those empty calories and increase your metabolism? Work with your body and not against it. When you have have gotten off track on your food, drink extra water. At the very least, it will help you feel better and you won’t be as hungry when your friends are still passing around the chips.


3. Get your heart rate up.

Spend 5 minutes really getting your heart rate up. 🏃🏻‍♀️ I know this sounds similar to #1, but it’s different. Do some of those jumping jacks, run up and down the stairs, or do air squats. Get your heart pumping and you will increase your metabolism for the next hour. Do that 3x/day for the next few days and you will burn those extra calories you may have consumed over the holiday!

Most importantly, don’t stress. Anxiety will cause havoc in your cortisol hormones and mess with your metabolism in the wrong way. Enjoy your family and friends, do some or all of these hacks, and have a great weekend! 🇺🇸 ❤️
